This section provides steps to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with Tabify.
Step 1. Restart Chrome
Ensure Chrome is completely closed.
- On Windows: After closing all Chrome windows, verify the tool tray for a Chrome icon. If found, right-click it and select Exit.
- On macOS: Close Chrome using Command + Q. Check the Dock for a Chrome icon. If it's there, right-click and choose Quit.
Continue to step 2 if the issue remains after restarting Chrome.
Step 2. Reinstall Tabify
Back up your Tabify data before reinstalling. Visit the
Import / Export page for guidance on data backup.
After data backup, uninstall Tabify, close Chrome (refer to step 1), then restart your computer.
Reinstall Tabify from the Chrome Web Store and restore your data.
If the issue persists, move on to step 3.
Step 3. Contact Support
Email help@tabify.dev with detailed information about your issue.
Include the following details:- Describe the steps that lead to the problem.
- Explain what you expected to happen vs. what occurred.
- Is the issue reproducible? How?
- When did the problem start? (e.g., following an update or crash?)
- Any error messages from Tabify?
- Error messages in the console (with instructions on accessing Tabify’s console).
- Steps already tried to solve the issue.
- Whether Chrome extensions or bookmarks are synced with Google.
- Attach screenshots or screen recordings if possible.
